The what and why
Wednesday 19th MarThis April, I’m taking on the MATES Big Lap, aiming to walk, run, or ride 300km alongside my work team. But this challenge is about more than just movement—it’s about mental health and suicide prevention in the construction industry.
The reality is confronting: workers in this industry are significantly more at risk of suicide than the general population. MATES in Construction provides crucial support, training, and intervention to ensure no one struggles in silence.
By taking part in this challenge, I want to help spark conversations, raise awareness, and contribute to real change. Every step we take is a step toward breaking down stigma and ensuring more people get the help they need.
